Flatbed vs sheet-fed scanners
Two scanner designs that solve different problems. Most offices need a bit of both.
Flatbed: for delicate or unusual originals
Books, photographs, ID cards, fragile documents, and anything you don't want fed through rollers. Flatbeds also handle thicker paper than sheet-fed designs.
Sheet-fed: for volume
Loose paper, multi-page documents, receipts, and bulk archive work. A duplex sheet-fed unit with a 50+ page hopper turns half-day filing jobs into half-hour jobs.
Pick based on your stack
If you mostly digitise loose paperwork, a sheet-fed dedicated unit pays back fast. If you scan a wide variety of originals, an all-in-one with both flatbed and document feeder covers more.
