Wi-Fi vs Ethernet printers

Almost all modern printers support both, but it's worth understanding when to use which.

When to use Wi-Fi

Home and small-office setups, anywhere you don't want to run a cable, and any time multiple devices need easy access. Wi-Fi is the default for most household devices.

When to prefer Ethernet

Busy offices where the Wi-Fi network is congested. Environments where security policies require wired devices. Any unit you want to keep online during Wi-Fi maintenance.

Mobile printing still works either way

AirPrint, Mopria, and HP Smart all work the same whether the unit is connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. What matters is that it's on the same local network as the device sending the job.
